The Trouser

Regular or Long?
The two trousers are the same garment cut to two different inseams. The Regular Trouser has a 28" inseam and is made to skim the floor in flats. The Long Trouser has a 30" inseam and is made for heels — with a heel on, the hem pools slightly, which is the point.
Long sizes read SL, ML and LL — small, medium and large, in the long inseam. So if you wear a medium in the Regular, you wear ML in the Long. Everything above the hem is identical.
How to measure
Our numbers describe the garment laid flat, not your body. The most accurate way to size yourself is to measure something you already own and love the fit of.
- Find a comparison piecePick a shirt or trousers from your own wardrobe that fit the way you'd like these to fit.
- Lay it flatSmooth it out on a table or the floor. Do the buttons up. Don't stretch anything.
- Measure straight acrossFor bust or waist, measure across the garment from edge to edge — not around it. That's the number to compare with ours.
- For lengthMeasure from the highest point of the shoulder straight down for a shirt, and from the crotch seam to the hem for a trouser inseam.
- Compare, don't convertMatch your numbers to the closest column. Linen relaxes with wear, so if you're between sizes, size down for a closer fit or up for the fuller drape.
Measuring around the body instead
If you'd rather use your own measurements, double the flat figure — a 24½" flat bust is a 49" garment circumference. These are relaxed, generous cuts, so a garment circumference well above your body measurement is normal and intended.
